Installation Complaint
I had my cable and internet installed yesterday, and I am very dissatisfied with how the technician installed my service. I have a smart panel in my garage with an outlet inside the panel with all of the CAT V and cable wire for my house running to it, this panel also provides access to the exterior of my house. The technician did not use this panel whats so ever and instead drilled additional holes in my house that construction was just completed on last month. In addition to the hole that he ran the single wire through the exterior into my garage, he also bolted an empty box over the wires entrance that serves no purpose but to put more holes in my siding. Looking at the interior of my garage it looks like the first hole that he drilled was off the mark when it looks like he tried to drill into the power meter on the side of my house. Last but not least he only hooked up one CAT V cable so if I ever want to add an additional TV to my plan I will need to to have another technician to come out to my house to hook up other ports, wasting money, instead of ATT sending me the box in the mail and me plugging it in. The technician also ran the single CAT V cable out of the smart panel under the cover of the smart panel, down the wall to the device he attached to the wall of my garage.

I believe @my thoughts is a prem tech and might be able to offer some insight.

I have Fiber running to my house so it is a single wiring running from the outside to the inside. As for the box that is installed on the outside, the only wire that runs to the box is a ground wire. The fiber runs out of the ground and directly into the house to the converter box on the wall, so I don't see why the box was bolted to my house, tried to show that is the pictures. I have attached some pictures, don't know why they got rotated on upload, but the hole you see next to the yellow wire is the one that leads to the power meter. Like I said in my first post, the converter that the tech put on my wall could have easily gone inside since it provides access to the outside and has an electrical outlet inside it. Not only would this have prevented the tech from drilling unneeded holes in my wall but also he would not have come close to electrocuting himself from almost drilling into my power meter.

This panel may be bigger than mine, but this install looks a lot more professional since the converter is inside the box and there are no wires coming out of the box and running down the wall to the converter.

I expect this complaint to be ignored like AT&T does with all customers service issues, I my neighborhood In The Hills of Horton in Durham,NC ATT installers are putting fiber across the side walks instead of burying it, Causing a trip hazard all over the neighborhood. I know because while walking my dog I tripped over one of these cables, at age 63 it’s not fun falling like that. Hope someone pays attention to this issue.

Old post with irrelevant information since Uverse is no longer being installed. Closed.
