Problem with pre-recorded movies not playing till the end

Pre-recorded movies cut out before the end, often just 5 mins before the end of the movie.

No, not On Demand, just regular programmed movies that I want to watch later.

So movies YOU recorded? You can always add time when setting up a recording.

Don't mess with old people.  The older we get, the less "Life in Prison" is a deterrent.

Just off the regular U-Verse program. e.g a Turner Classic Movie, or a program from the Sundance Channel. I'll try adding more time when I record. Thanks for your help, skeeterintexas!

It may be the networks you watch that are running late or skewed timeframes. Example: The program is listed as 8pm-9pm, so the recording starts at 8pm, but the network may not start the program till 8:03pm and the show goes to 9:07 (this was a real example). So while you record 8pm-9pm at 9pm it stops. Now, if you have multiple recordings or live TVs, I think the limit is 4, there will be a HARD cutoff at 9pm because the limit is reached.

I have missed many endings throughout the years this way. Your best bet is to add additional recording time to the end or create a full buffer recording time if it is something you really want. You can set manual recording for the time frame, so in the above example, set a manual recording for channel "X"  to record 7:30pm-9:30pm.

Willy_1,

Thanks for your thorough answer to my problem, as well as the suggestion for how to deal with it. As it turns out, I DO have more than four stored recordings – which I've since watched – so I'll delete them and start over.

Thanks again.
