Ran across a problem with trick play
Noticed while recording 3 shows and watching another, trick play would not work. I assume that since all 4 streams are in use the DVR has no place to buffer. No biggy just glad I know this so I can schedule recordings accordingly.

Were the 3 recordings and the live channel all HD channels? If so, trick play would not work on the live HD channel; however, it would have worked on a live SD channel. When you think about it, it makes sense.
Your Ingress Profile (i.e. streams into the DVR) is 1 SD/3 HD. You can record 4 programs at the same time; however, only 3 can be HD. Since the trick play buffering occurs on the DVR, the Ingress Profile determines what you can do.
Try watching an SD channel while 3 HD recordings are in process. You should be able to do trick play.

Yep TG they were all 4 HD. Don't really get over to the SD channels much anymore. Makes sense on the Ingress....didn't think about that.

I'm also mostly an HD channel watcher. I hope at some point the Ingress Profile can be changed to 0 SD/4 HD to allow 4 HD channels to be recorded at the same time.

Theoretically that would solve allot of issues including my trick play problem. Funny part is I had never run across this until my wife figured out how to set up recordings a few weeks ago. Now that she is somewhat proficient at it, she has all kinds of stuff recording. She even recorded some deal on QVC....

LOL. She's the only one that I have heard of who would schedule a recording on one of the shopping channels.
