System rebooting daily while watching wireless set-top
A very peculiar situation. The ISB7005 reboots and it's happened every day this week early morning after starting a recorded program. Afterwards everything works normally until the following morning. The gateway was recently factory reset after receiving a new firmware update.

I'd have customer support reprovision the box on your account & see if that changes anything. Do you have other wireless STBs that are working okay?

Just the one connected via VAP2500.
I won’t let level 1 touch my service anymore. U-verse is very fragile at this point and I’m concerned matters will only get worse. If it continues to happen, I’ll look harder for an expert.
You did remind of something and I did now just check to see if the firewall pinhole for port 443 was still there and it was.

@gr8sho , I've never had a wireless box, so I don't have a great deal of experience to throw in here. It would be interesting to see if the wireless set top had the issue elsewhere, e.g.:
1) Connected to the network via Ethernet and/or
2) Connected to a different TV
Also, try doing a soft reboot of the receiver right before you go to bed and see if it still happens immediately upon watching your recorded show in the morning.

If seen my 7005 once or twice reboot for no obvious reason over the past few years. But the key words there only once or twice and over the years. But you said that the gateway received a new firmware update. Were there no receiver problems before that firmware update? Is there any possibility of some relationship where that update affects the WAP and in turn the WAP is forcing the receiver reboot (I'm not even sure the WAP can even cause a receiver reboot)?
As a variant of using the wireless box elsewhere, do you have more than one wireless box where you could switch the two boxes?

@gr8sho I'd also be interested in seeing if the receiver restarts in the morning even if a program *isn't* being recorded.

@JefferMC I'll see about some the test requests. The box itself can be easily moved of course.
This may give added incentive to run some more cable .
Yesterday the box just lost connectivity live streaming. My wife did a soft reboot to recover and then it continued on fine for rest of the day .
@_xyzzy_ I don't recall this level of interruption prior to latest update.
@davemize when I turned on the set-top box the Uverse logo with spinning circle flashed momentarily. I then started watching a recording and working fine . Just discovered Ernie Kovacs show. Brilliant .

Ernie Kovacs will cure a lot of ills... or at least make you forget your problems for a while.

Ernie Kovacs? Now there's a blast from the past. What network is broadcasting his shows? Those singing monkeys freaked me out when I was a kid.

Turner Classic Movies.
Normally the best suggestions is to turn on their app using your favorite device and the shows should be there. Just be warned they only leave things visible in the library for about 7 to 8 days. But in looking I did not find the TV specials, just a couple of movies. Must have just gotten lucky channel surfing.
And yes, I can imagine this would be unsettling for children. This is clearly a show for adults and you have to appreciate sarcasm. The skit he did with the housewife painter and had me busting out in laughter. Right up there with Serling in terms of brilliance.

The thing that seems to be happening is the settop box is seeing a change in network settings and wants to be restarted. I can only attribute this atm to either an issue with the the VAP2500 autosearching for the best 5GHz channel, or there's something amiss with the DHCP server, however in the case of the latter, I do not see any IP address changes.

Things seem to have settled down after I pinned the 5GHz channel on the VAP2500 TO 112. I've installed an Airties 4920 in an effort to cleanup 5GHz in general.
In another week or so if things remain stable i will mark the issue solved .
