VIP 1200 FLASHING INTERNAL GREEN LIGHT
vip 1200 receiver works ok but the small green led inside the case flashed brightly at intervals very irratating at night the connection is via coax all functions and menu items work correctly I have repaced the receiver twice with the same result

Was it not doing that before?
If it works perfectly fine, then there's no problem with the box.

My advice anyway would be to update your VIP-1200 with a newer model. You'll notice a drastic increase in speed when pressing buttons on the remote. If AT&T insists on charging you for this, tell them that their update from several years ago made your box inoperable.
They'll send you a new one via UPS with instructions on how to install (it's quite easy actually) and just take the 1200 to the nearest UPS store and they'll do the rest.

If you are talking about the internet and wi fi lights at the top of the box that is normal. It is constantly receiving data and will blink. You can not do anything about that. If it bothers you move the RG into another room. The light is not that bright and it does not bother me.
