Why does blue hd light stay on?

I do not have hd but the blue light stays on even when tv is off. It didn't always stay on so i wonder what changed, also my remote does not respond to recorded shows. It will not bring up menu for recorded shows.

My problem was solved by a post from Skeeterintexas explaining the power button function. Apparently i just needed to press the at&t button on remote and i was back to normal.

Yea for me!  j/k

The other thing I've learned (trial & error) is that if you are in too big of a hurry when you hit the Power button is that it won't turn off both your TV and the UV box (guilty).

More than once, I've hit the power button and realized I moved the remote away too fast and it didn't have time to turn off both.  So I have to toggle between the ATT button and the TV button to get them both off.  I have only myself to blame but I still usually curse at the TV/box whilst I'm fixing things.

Don't mess with old people.  The older we get, the less "Life in Prison" is a deterrent.

The HD light will remain lit as long as you have your TV connected to the receiver with an HDMI cable.  There was an update that was pushed out around a year ago that kept this light lit.

As for the remote, I would recommend that you send a Private Message to the ATTU-verseCare Community Specialist team.  One of the specialists will respond to your PM shortly.  Please look for the flashing envelope at the top right of the page for your response from a team member.

They can get a replacement remote sent out to you.

noway89 - Even though you do not subscribe to HD programming you do want to connect U-verse to the TV with the best possible connection. When the TV is HD you do want to connect HD & set the aspect to match the TV. This provides the best picture, allows use of the zoom button and is ready for free HD previews. So, it is good that you are connected HDMI.

While you wait for a new remote - You do know you can get the recording menu via the menu button. Another good way to toggle live/recordings is the LAST button.

Wasn't the "blue light always on," issue, fixed a few months ago?

Yes, it was fixed in the last firmware update that was rolled out a few months ago.

So the green power light was on, too.  Smiley Wink  You do have to delay your laying down the remote, technique to allow all of the commands to be sent.  I still don't always get it right. Smiley Happy

I have actually noticed my HD blue light staying lit when the TV is powered off and the STB is on standby on my HDMI connected STB.  Not all the time though.  This has only been in the past 2 weeks.

@JefferMC I am seeing the same behavior.  Sometimes it's on and sometimes it's not with the TV off and STB in standby.

The blue light indicates that you have HD.  Why would that effect your ability to use a Firestick?
