“Are you still watching?”
Is there a way to disable the prompt for “are you still watching?”
When we leave the house, we leave the tv on to provide ambient noise for our dogs. They are super sound reactive. But a lot of times when we return, the tv is asleep. Even if we could get it to work for music…

Go to Menu/Settings/Display/Power Saving, and turn it off. That may help keep it on when ever you want it to stay on.

@DIRECTVhelp Is it correct then that Directv Stream (through Firestick) does not have the capability?
@Ludwick577 TV isn’t the issue. It remains on after the access/application shuts itself off because of no response.

Hi @afrancis430, we know that you have doubts regarding this, we're here to clarify them for you.
Let us share that at this moment the option to disable the sleep time is available on DIRECTV Satellite service, since these are different services they have different features, and the way you manage the settings it's also different.

@DIRECTVhelp to clarify - Are Directv Stream and Sattelite different?
Basically, is there a way to disable the sleep function in Directv Stream (via firestick)? (I wasn’t the one who brought satellite into the question).

Hi @afrancis430!
You're correct, DIRECTV STREAM and DIRECTV Satellite are different services. DIRECTV STREAM is a prepaid service and DIRECTV is a service provided by satellite.
The sleep function can be deactivated on DIRECTV Satellite, once this feature is available on DIRECTV STREAM, we will notify our customers.
Please let us know if you have more questions, we'll be happy to help.

I am displeased with the function of direct tv steam system with the “are you still watching” and not being able to shut off really upsets me. Hope you fix it fast because it’s all over internet that your customers are not happy. I have a smart tv connected to my personal modem. I love the fact the I no longer need cheap overheating rental boxes, streaming has advantages.

DirecTV is satellite service.
DIRECTV STREAM is a streaming-only service. This is the 3rd branding. Previously was AT&T TV or AT&T TV NOW and before that it was DIRECTV NOW. Yes the naming has caused a lot of confusion.
The two services have nothing to do with each other. They simply share a parent owner.
The options in the dedicated DIRECTV STREAM box and the downloadable app (such as on the Firestick), have different options. The "Are you still watching" is common on downloadable apps, so not exclusive to DIRECTV STREAM. If disabling that is so important than I would look into getting the dedicated box otherwise consider a non-streaming provider that has their own equipment so different built-in options.

Common on downloadable apps, maybe. I have never had any app ask me so often whether or not I'm watching. Usually it pops up when it's 4th and goal at the 1 or bottom of the 9th, score 1-1, men on first and third.
Directv Stream is the one that does it most often, that's a well known fact.
When is DirecTV Stream going to put customer satisfaction anywhere near shareholder value on its list of priorities? Because it's currently a joke, but it's the only way to get the regional sports channels for my area, I have to put up with the constant interruption of the app asking me that over and over throughout the day.
Tired of corporate interests downgrading the quality of entertainment in this day and age. Stop it!
