CARE CODE 500

I have called AT&T multiple times about this error that appears on each of my Roku devices in my home and no one seems to have any clue what I am talking about. I keep getting told 1. Uninstall and re install; 2. Change my password; 3. Restart my devices. Nothing works. No one on the phone has any clue how to fix it. Help please, I would like to use what I pay for!

Never heard of "Care Code 500". 

For DirecTV Satellite, call 1-800-531-5000.

For DirecTV Stream, call 1-888-429-4023.

Apparently no one in customer support has ever heard of it either. They are no help. I’ve spent numerous hours on the phone (4 today already) with no advice on how to fix it. It’s an issue on their end but all they can ask me to do is “uninstall and reinstall the app” 500 times.

Is it the new app DIRECTV Stream.

Sound like you have satellite DIRECTV and using the DIRECTV app.

Everything that I can find points this towards the DirecTV service. Are you sure you have the right app?
What does ATT care code 500 mean?
The page you are searching for has been deleted, or its name has been changed or modified on the server. ... The server will not accept the request because the media type is not a supported definition. 500  Internal ErrorThe server was unable to send the html document to you due to an internal (server software) error.

The exact code I get is “something went wrong. Try again later. Care Code: 500.” It was originally occurring on my ATTTv app only on Roku TV devices. Now it’s occurring on Directv stream (since it switched over yesterday) and now on the myAT&T app on my phone. I can log in to the directv stream app on my phone & my computer but not on my TV.

Yes I am using RokuTV. It is an 8000x model. It’s not very old and ATTTv used to work fine. This issue only started about a month ago…

Have you reset your router and modem? I on occasion get that message (without the care code) and all I need to do is reset my environment.

This is an ongoing problem with the switch to directv streaming.  The care code 500 relates to the old directv satellite streaming app.  Apparently it is interfering or intercepting the signals from the new DTV streaming app.  This appears to be a server software problem that they need to sort out.  I have been getting the same care code 500 on all my devices (cells , tablets, TV, DTV streaming device) for the last month.  I'm surprised ATT hasnt been able to sort this out -- did DTV satellite take all the good techs with them when they split in August?

I lost DTV app on my tablet a year ago. Lost it on my pad two weeks ago. Just lost it on my phone today. The login keeps either telling me the login ID is wrong (but then I have it sent to my email and it is exactly the same as what I typed). I’ve seen the “something went wrong” message. The classic Care Code 500. You name it, I’ve seen it. I’ve also tried to delete and reinstall the app, reset our DTV receiver, checked the modem and router….but still, constant problems. 

I also had a nice 2 hour wait for help after being transferred to the DTV/ATT technical dept. 

This is a multi-billion dollar company, right? Maybe it’s time to cancel them - and for a VERY good reason!

I was having issues on my Roku and Samsung Smart Tv. Today, I can't access the app! Had to uninstall and reinstall. Now won't let me log in on my android phone app. Gives me the Care Code 500😡

Only thing I can tell you is Care Codes are DirecTV satellite error codes and not DirecTV stream errors. Since they have combined the code for both services into one app, care code are being reported all over the place. Are you a previous satellite user? Using the same credentials?

Maybe the Customer Care 600 issue is related to this one. If CC 500 and 600 both used to be related to Satellite, and none of us have that, something's gone wonky on their servers.
