Could we have a new streaming app in the making called "DirecTV Stream Dish Now Via Internet"?

I think you’d need to squeeze Sling in that name somewhere. And they’d need to also squeeze all those streaming options into a single service, which might be even trickier.

Wonder if this means they'll shut down or merge Sling into DirecTV stream or if they'll consider pushing Sling instead of Stream (given they now have DirecTV via internet one has to wonder if they wouldn't rather push that for people who want the traditional cable experience, not something I'd like to see as I don't like contracts or the extra fees).
One interesting thing about SlingTV is they don't offer OTA channels so in carriage disputes people still receive them because you have to buy this special antenna they sell which does insulate them a little more from customer anger over that or even having to deal with it.
If they do merge I can't see the combined company long-term keeping:
* Sling TV (streaming TV like DirecTV stream but no locals unless you buy an antenna which merges them into your guide and you need to buy a model with a local DVR if you want to record them)
* DirecTV Stream (no contract streaming TV packages, includes local channels)
* DirecTV via internet (contract internet streamed version of DirecTV requires at least one special box, additional boxes rented)
They got to sunset one or merge names at some point though it could take years and probably will take at least one year.
