First Run Record Only

I have tried to go thru the guide and select the episode on it's regular program and select New Episodes and search the show. But still records old episodes on other channels. Like 911 on Fox selected record new but records reruns on USA. Reset the system and still same issue. Can we get a First Run Only option so records only on original station.

This typically happens with the station/network's Guide Data is incomplete or inaccurate. DirecTV will record the show if it's not specified as a repeat, or if the "first air date" is inaccurate. Not much DirecTV can do about the quality of the station/network's Guide Data information.

Just delete the shows you don't want to watch.

It shows the correct first aired date but still records. And shouldn't have to go thru and delete the episodes. Defeats the purpose of choosing new

Not true! DirecTV could let us select the specific channel that a show will be recorded from. The many complaints on this issue are usually that extraneous episodes are recorded from "secondary" channels in addition to the desired episodes from the desired "primary" channel. This could be fixed by DirecTV by giving us an option to record only from the originally selected channel!
