Jutter / Frame Rate issue.
Just got DirecTV Stream and am having an issue. When ever I use the DTV Stream Box and tune to a channel, say ESPN, or MLB or Fox News, if there are any graphics scrolling across the bottom of the screen, they are juddering, after about 10-11 seconds, it clears up, the scroll is nice and smooth and all is well. However, if I leave the channel and turn back, the same thing happens.
Also I noticed when I surf other channels, say ESPN and there's a basketball game on, the picture is fuzzy, for about 10-11 seconds, then it clears. Here's the kicker, If I use the Directv Stream app with my Apple TV box, I don't have this issues.( It's only with the Direct TV Box oh and it does the same thing with my Roku as well). The apple tv works flawlessly.
I've tried ethernet, 5ghz, 2.4ghz connections. I've even hooked it up to numerous TV's, and I get the same issue. I've checked the video settings, they are defaulted to 1080p, I've tried every single video setting and nothing works. Again, if I run the app through Apple TV Box, all is well. There is an issue with the box DTV Stream provides and it's ability to properly scale, or pass through (sorry, I'm not a tech guy) the proper signal at the proper "frame rate"??
I called DTV and all they tell me is, "this is not a known issue and they have not received any complaints about this". I can't believe this is true. I've tried 5 different DTV Streaming boxes, and every one exhibits the same behavior. I even googled to see if there was some hidden service menu within the box I could access.
Also I have 500Mbps internet from Cox. I called them as well and they could not offer any suggestions / settings I could change within my Panoramic router.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Has anyone else had this issue?

Don’t bother interacting with tech support. They’re as useless as (Edited per community guidelines) on a bull.

When I’m back at home I will try to reach out, but I did notice the same thing happens when fast forwarding a saved tv show. When I hit play, it takes about 10 seconds for everything to adjust to a great picture.

My sister just got DIRECTV stream as well, and it is an issue for her also using the DTV osprey’ boxes. . I will say this, using the Fire TV Cube or a newer model Apple TV with the app, this is not an issue. . So it’s obviously an issue with the way the Roku and Osprey streaming devices are processing the stream. Really wish DTV would acknowledge this issue and fix it.

Still having the issue. Admittedly, it’s better but not resolved. Still annoying though.

I am also having this issue, and I am on a Fire Stick 4K Max or whatever the heck it's called. Sports are choppy, you can really tell when there is a ticker on the bottom. This happens all the time, not just the first 10 seconds. I am considering a switch to cable if this is the new normal, as sports is the big seller for DTV Stream.

What did improve it but not completely correct it was I changed the settings on my Samsung TVs for auto correct of judder. It really does help.

I have some judder correction enabled already in the Samsung settings... I can play around with that, but since no other app does this, I don't really feel like it is the correct long-term solution. Something funky is going on with the stream.

I noticed it happens with ALL content, on ALL channels, not just sports. It will be smooth for a bit, then it will start juddering/getting choppy.

I bought a nice Sony Bravia TV and have had judder issues with the Direct tv streaming app with hockey games. I tried adjusted the motion settings and no help. I just watched a replay hockey game on the Ballys app on the tv and no issue.
I’ve also had numerous issues with DIRECTV app not working at all, “internet issues” while all the other apps on the tv work.
It’s a horrible app/product.

I bought a new Sony Bravia TV and have really annoying judder issues with hockey games and other fast moving sports on the directv streaming app. I’ve tried adjusting the motion settings but no help.
I just watched a replay hockey game on the Ballys app with no problem
I’ve also had issues even getting the directv app to turn on saying “internet issues” while all the other streaming apps are working fine
Its a horrible app/product

I also have all new gear. Lately the judder is so bad. All channels all the time. Only on the DTV app. All others are fine. When I force stop the app, clear cach, then reload the app. It is good as new. This is on an Amazon fire stick(new version).
however the problem comes back the next time we power on the device the next day or hour or whatever. (Edited per community guidelines) that we have to do this to get it working. Please advise

I’m having the same issues. The stutter, judder makes it almost unwatchable. I have a new Amazon fire stick. I have been messing with this for days. The only way to fix it is to force close the application, clear the cache, reload the app. Then the pictures back to normal. However, next time you power off and power on the equipment. The issue is back. So we have to do the same steps every time to watch the TV stream. Pretty sad. Please advise. hopefully this info will help out someone from DIRECTV, thus helping us get this fixed.
