Kodi player linux
Let me preface that I have a subscription & I'm not scamming for anything.
My wife is electronic-phobic (too lazy to look up the real phobia) & wants her means of navigating the site as easy as possible.
I have a Linux-based (Ubuntu) computer running Kodi. My Amazon Prime account is loaded into it (Kodi) & runs without a hitch, but DirecTV Streaming seemingly has no add-on for Kodi.
Is there such an add-on & where am I to get it? Or... is there a different home theater app that will accommodate me?
The less navigation between devices & software will not only make her happier, but it will also allow for more healing time for a rather chewed-up (Edited per community guidelines).
Thanks for any help that can be provided.

DIRECTV STREAM only has an app for a few devices.

But they don't have any add-ons outside of that. Either you use an app as designed or use the service specific DIRECTV STREAM box (which functions with a remote in a similar manner to a traditional TV service).
Sounds like you want a more complicated setup to conversely make it simpler to accommodate your wife's phobia. I'm sorry but I don't think there is exactly the kind of option you are looking for. Though if you do find something that works, please share in case it may help others in the future.

Thanks for the quick reply... Yeah, it seems that no one in that community caters to making a repo for DTV. I'll try for a different home theater frontend & see if their group knows something. Even a paid app is preferable to losing my (Edited per community guidelines) to "Death By a Thousand Bites".
I'll return with some kind of update once somebody educates on the yes/no configurations out there.

I have had success in Plex Media Server by using Channels DVR + Threadfin/xTeVe.
Channels DVR pulls in TV Everywhere channels using your DTV subscription. Then Threadfin makes them appear as an HRHomeRun interface. That makes them easy for Plex to see.
Obviously Kodi would have a slightly different solution. You may or may not even need Threadfin depending on what Kodi can do with Channels DVR's TV Everywhere streams. I wish you good luck :-)

Thanks nathantaylor128
I've been contemplating a large NAS server in the house & this might sway my decision as to the OS I'm going to choose.
Really appreciate the insight.
