Solve the problem with ESPN & ABC!
So I sat down about 20 minutes ago to watch the Braves/Phillies game, and all I get is a message that the channel is having a problem with the video feed. After googling, I find out that the problem isn't with ESPN or the video feed--it's with you guys! My bill comes due tomorrow, and this is completely unacceptable. Do something, and do it fast! I've dropped better streaming services than DirecTV because of this behavior. Do whatever you have to do before 7 pm tomorrow, because I'm pretty sure I'm not going to pay for this.

I think YouYube TV works better on the app on the DTVS streaming device than it does otherwise.

Juniper - I am here to vent my frustrations with this situation. Most of my previous questions were rhetorical, and I fully understand what is going on. I really don't care what you think of my perceptions, whether they be acute, obtuse, or somewhere in between. DirecTV knew this was coming, and yet here we are. The peak of sports and political seasons in full swing, and your subscribers who are caught in the middle of this ill timed and potentiall avoidable stand-off get to suffer and scrounge for work arounds. As someone who apparently represents DirecTV on this board, instead of empathy, updates, and possible work arounds, you offer spin and criticism to those frustrated. Sorry...Not Sorry...if my opinions are not agreeable to your views.

@nashman320 Youtube TV has been available on the Dtv Stream boxes, in google play store, for a couple of years now. I signed up for the 21 day free trial on Sunday night. Works pretty well. Love the buffer available on the last few channels you have watched so you can go back and rewind. I wish Dtv Stream had that feature.

Yes DirecTV knew this was coming. And so did Disney, in fact they (like other channel owners) count on it. By pulling the feed when it will upset the consumer the most, the intention would be to get the viewer to complain to the TV provider loud enough to give in to new rates. But too many don't consider that results in more costs to our bills.
You may not care, but by posting you have opened up to accept the views and perceptions of others in response even if they don't match yours. This is a public forum, which also means they are not my subscribers any more than they are yours as I am another customer.
There was no spin, just bringing a dose of reality as many only see channels are gone but don't look beyond that to the big picture. Channel owners pulling the feed at these critical times for viewers is calculated to use us customers as leverage. And after complaining that people get their sports back on (that they just cannot live without) they cannot understand why their bill goes up again.
Yes I will criticize when people make outlandish claims or demands that go beyond reason. I respect people are frustrated. I do not discuss to provide empathy, I'll leave that to family, friends, your chosen religious member, etc. Being a blunt individual I prefer a practical view and to provide correct information. Sometimes the help is giving a realistic perspective. At this point it is wait until negotiations complete, perhaps using a streaming option as a backup (especially if something has a free trial period), or just cancel and go with another provider. Keep in mind that switching is not a true fix as all TV providers go through this as they don't own the channels. So this is just DirecTV's turn to deal with Disney.

I'm not saying this is all DirecTV's fault. After all Disney has said DirecTV "chose" to deny millions of subscribers to their content when it was Disney's decision alone to black out the feed during the negotiations to exert pressure on DirecTV. It looks like there is much more to this issue then just subscription price. There are bundling disagreements as well so this may not be over for a long time. The problem for the consumer, no matter who is at fault, is if they want a service that provides ABC, FX, ESPN, Nat Geo, and other channels owned by Disney DirecTV can't offer that now and might not for the foreseeable future.

Juniper - thank you for highlighting exactly why you shouldn't be involved with client facing interactions. Facing upset clients involves tact and empathy. Cold factual responses do nothing to further a singed relationship between DirecTV and your highly frustrated client base. You may prefer cold hard facts, but remember the presentation of the fly to the fish is key. Something you have not mastered, and would benefit from. In the meantime, should you choose to continue to respond in this forum, kindly provide usable updates, with measurable expectations, and less opinions on posts from frustrated DirecTV clients. Thanks.

I am sure I speak for many if not most Americans that I would like to have a choice NOT to fund the NFL, NBA or other sport that disrespects America. Sports channels should be and add-on and not forced. Let your customers decide they want to pay for. Free enterprise and free choice will help control prices and boost revenue.

I hope ATT does not continue a contract with Disney. Most Americans do not want to pay for them either.

AT&T has nothing to do with the dispute. It's DirecTV, which is a separate company from AT&T.
For DirecTV Satellite, call 1-800-531-5000.
For DirecTV Stream, call 1-888-429-4023.

Removing Disney, ABC and all of its affiliates is definitely the way to go. I have found these corporations to have become hostile and discriminatory towards America. I do not need to be forced to pay for that in order to enjoy my down time. I want channels that inspire patriotism without social agendas behind them.

ATT is the parent company of DirecTV and DirecTV Stream. They are all affiliated and controlled by ATT. The parent corporation is most definitely involved with negotiations that affect revenue.

I know I made a contract with DTV to pay a monthly fee for the channels in my package. If they are unable to provide the content I'm paying for, then they have breached the contract. I only watch one sports, college football. I will not be deprived of this because of a carriage dispute. I'll cancel my subscription, what can they do about it? Throw me in jail, nope. Their only option is to report me to the credit bureau. My scores are 800 or better, not too concerned.

I'm sure you can point to the part of your agreement where channels are guaranteed.
