Streaming time out

What streaming device are you using?

The DirecTV Stream box has a sleep mode. I think it kicks in after 4 hours of no remote activity. You can disable that. 

But I believe the service itself has a timeout (applies to any device) which can't be defeated - at least that used to be the case.  It requires some action (a button press, etc.) at least every 4 hours to reset that timer.  No idea if they have provided a way since then to let users disable that timeout.

I have roku and a fire stick... the one I want to keep on is on my fire stick

Any chance you plan on adding an option to disable that?  This is a deal breaker for us. if you don't plan on doing it soon I will have to go back to Hulu. that does allow us to disable it.

Don't hold your breath waiting for that feature. If it's a deal-breaker, then you'll want to switch services. 

Of course you can always run an different app like Pluto and any networking app and keep it on. 

So, every other streaming service, running on mobile and PC devices, in the world allows you to disable any sleep timer, except DirectTV. Because???

So what? They don't. Run another app.

Not much help are you? I've noticed the same in many of your comments. 

I can't make it happen. No one can. Just the nature of the app for mobiles and computers.

Nature of AT&T being lazy since other streaming services don't have the problem. 

It's not a big deal. Just hit a button every once in a while. You cant just be sitting there straight for 4 hours.

Wanna bet.

Not a glitch. Was never designed to disable.
