Wrong local channels on Stream.

I am getting local channels that are from my previous address in Florida instead of the ones for North Carolina where I am now.  ????

Hi @docdata757, you can also try updating your DIRECTV STREAM home network, using any connected TV device to reset your IP address.

 

1. Go to the DIRECTV STREAM app.
2. Choose Setting and then Preferences.
3. Select Location Settings and then set new home Location.
4. Choose your new location.

Please keep in mind the update of your home network may only be done 4 times in a 12 month period.

Have you changed your billing CC information to reflect your new location? Local channels are derived from a combination of a customer billing zip code and IP address. Essentially the IP address a customer is assigned must match their billing zip code to receive the local channels available in that area. Your ISP determines the IP address that is assigned to your location.

For DirecTV Satellite, call 1-800-531-5000.

For DirecTV Stream, call 1-888-429-4023.

Also On a DirecTV Stream box go to Settings/System/General/Location and make sure your Location is turned on.

On a Roku or Fire Stick go to Settings/Preferences/Home Settings/. Hit the "Set New Home Location. Look and see if you get the message that your current location matches the one they have on record.

My Billing CC address is my current NC address.

'Location' is on in the settings on my Directv Streaming device.

????

Did you also try settings---preferences---location settings---set new home location?

If it is an app uninstall it and then reinstall it.

If it is a DirecTV Stream box you can try a restart of the box or you may need to do a factory reset on the device and do a fresh setup.

Settings/System/(Restart/Reset)/Factory Reset.

This will put your device back to the way you got it and if you have installed apps you may need to reinstall them. You can then do a new setup of the device.

You also can hold the ref reset button down for about 20-30 sec. It will reload and do a factory reset.

The location option told me I had the correct address and offered no other choices.

I did the factory reset and it MAY have solved the issue.  I need to wait until 'news time' to confirm.

Why do u have to wait for that all you have to do is look at your guide and see what locals you get.
