10 day of nothin
I have had Direct TV for 10 days, after having Dish removed. What a mistake Direct TV has nothing on half the time but advertising and they want you to buy movies. Can I get out of this contract

DirecTV and Dish have most of the same channels. As they just rebroadcast the channel, there would be no difference in advertisements on it between the two TV providers for channels that are on both of them. Since TV providers do not have control over what programming/advertisements a channel chooses to have, you would need to complain to the individual channel if you don't like what is on.
As for wanting to buy movies, most TV providers have PPVs. Those are optional and are located in the 100s (or show channel 1100 if it is an On Demand PPV). Going to your channels, or their On Demand library, is how you access your included content. i.e. Syfy 244 with On Demand 1244. Be aware that some channels have started to add in older seasons of their shows or other content into their On Demand library that they offer like a PPV, this additional content is on top of what they already include free. These channels are trying to capitalize on the binge watchers out there.
You can change your package at any time, so I would review the channels you do enjoy to see if you have the most optimum package for you or not.
No you cannot get out of the contract as there is only 24 hours from install before it is considered secure. If you were to cancel it would be billed at a value of $20 for each remaining month. So with 10 days in, that would be 23 full months resulting in an ECF of $460 if you were to cancel.
