2023 Australian Open

Where is channel 901, like previously, for the four major tennis tournaments?

The Australian Open isn’t on channel 901. I think it’s on ESPN (206) at the moment.

Directv has always offered special viewing options for the 4 major tennis tournaments.  Other than ESPN channels or The Tennis Channel. Last few years, it has been on channel 901 thru 907

Agreed.  We've been watching the Slams on DirecTV for about ten years and they've always been available on 701-707 or 901-907.  Are they no longer available on DirecTV?

Apparently not😕. I’ve looked thru search and scrolled all channels 701 and on. Very disappointing. I’ve been loyal because of these special options.

Same with us.  We've stuck with DirecTV for years because we're tennis fans and loved having the multiple channels.  If they're no longer going to offer the extended coverage, we'll be looking into different options.

I did open a chat with tech support.  45 minutes and four people later, the "supervisor" claimed that the broadcaster hadn't yet loaded the programs and to check back in 24 hours.  Sounds rather unlikely, but will check back.

It appears that they want you to get either their streaming service, which I tried and hated or ESPN+. They say all matches can be watched thru the latter. I am quite upset by this. Next year they won't be offering the NFL package either. You would think they would want to keep the customers they have. They also just increased my bill, AGAIN. I am looking for an alternative and we are 20+ year customers.

I am truly the only one in my family that still uses a “dish” for our TV service. I was a die hard and refused to change….mainly because of the special offering during the Slams. Now, I too will look for other TV service providers. We have also been 20 years or more customers of Directv. They just don’t have the same customer focus as they used to.

Also - I haven't noticed a reduction in my subscription fees for the discontinuation of these services nor have we been notified. Also for those that have direct TV for the sports experiences golf tournaments (masters) tennis experiences (slams), direct TV just lost the Sunday ticket as well to You tube TV.

I know I am a dinosaur but I don’t stream TV. I do have the ESPN app on my phone and they only had one match last night live at around 8. Matches start around 7pm…so for much offering all court coverage. So I’m stubborn and just hate to be forced to buy or signup for something.

ESPN’s coverage has been poor which is insane, because there are a ton of matches the first week of a grand slam!

And I agree, I don’t want to be forced to purchase yet another service!

Right this moment, after saying they are showing “first ball to last” of the AO….ESPN2 is telling those that what to see tennis to go to the app…😡. This is total (Edited per community guidelines)

Same here!  Very disappointed they are not doing this anymore.  May start looking around.  These majors was one of the main reasons I have looked before.

There isn't one, nor would one be expected. Networks continuously raise their costs to TV providers, so any content or specific channel that goes away doesn't make up the difference. There is no guarantee of any channel or content.
