Picture in Picture? no, no minis can do PIP as they can't borrow 2 tuners from the Genie. It appears that DTV is dropping PIP as the new HS17Genie2 can't be connected to a TV and it only feeds minis.

The 4K Client (C61K) does not support Picture in Picture (PiP / Split View) itself, as Clients only take 1 tuner each. However, the 3rd generation Genie HR54 supports the 4K Client. So you could still have PiP on the TV that has the HR54.
Just avoid the Genie-2 (HS17) as only allows Clients, so not only does it not have PiP, it is a restrictive system such as hard capping at 7 tuners. A regular Genie and 2 HDDVRs is 9 tuners and more reliable.
If you want 4K, go with the HR54 setup. However since it is only a couple channels in 4K (plus a few PPVs), I would consider if that or the capability of a full HDDVR on that TV on which is more worth it for you. No difference in monthly cost with either option.
