4k tv looks horrible on direct tv

I have a new Samsung 4K tv. Streaming Netflix and Disney plus look amazing. But direct tv looks awful. Worse than on my 9 year old Vizio tv. I’ve tried resetting, checking cables, making sure 1080i, 1080p, 4k boxes are checked. It literally looks like non HD. No one seems to be able to help. Got a new 4k box. Still no help.

Do you have an HR54 Genie or the HS17 Genie2?

That is worthless for 4k unless you have an HR54 or HS17 connected to it.

@Boomsoon85

Model is C61K (clearly listed on the label). Was this tech installed?

What model is the main Genie? Is it the Genie-2 (HS17), 3rd generation Genie (HR54) or an earlier model?

Make sure the C61K is connected to the correct port, as normally TVs only have one that matches DirecTV's 4K requirements which are HDMI 2.0, HDCP 2.2, and 60 FPS

Oh and what package do you have? (grandfathered packages do not support 4K, and neither does the special Family package)

tech installed. Here is a photo of the main box downstairs (not connected to the Samsung 4K which is upstairs). Entertainment package with the sports package.

When games are broadcast in 4k (super bowl) the picture looks great. But just regular college football games or nfl games that aren’t broadcast in 4k look awful. Not even hd level. Fuzzy.
