4k tv
I have a Sony KD55X750H I upgraded to 4k last month. Sometimes I get the message no signal, check the input. DirecTV tech was out today. He said the tv is not 4k compatible. According to Sony it is. I get a better picture on the 4k channels. How do you l know who is right? If I get a much better picture on 4k channels isn't that 4k? The error message is due to the tv not receiving a 4k signal.

@thomasr1969i Get a 4K cable for your TV into the Direct TV receiver. Ask the place you bought your TV from to recommend one.

The DTV supplied HDMI cable is 4K compatible. There are no 4K Genie receivers the HR54 was to far into production to change the HDMI port and the HS17 Genie2 doesn't have any outputs as it doesn't connect to any TV.

Do you have an HR54 Genie/HS17 Genie2 and a C61K connected to the 4K TV? No signal is usually the TV is on the wrong input or you are having HDCP handshaking issues.

Your TV should be 4K. Where did you buy it and what size is it?

It's a KD55X750H I bought it from AAFES. The input signal is intermittent. It comes up changing channels or pause. After a few seconds it goes away. On 4k channels I have a better picture.

KD55X750H is a 4K TV. I have HD satellite on a Sony 4K TV and people always tell me how great my signal is. Have you gone into settings then display then TV resolutions? What boxes are checked off ?

Yes, all boxes are checked. The Directv tech checked everything. He said I don't have a 4k input like my other Sony does.

Good you have better picture now. You only want the highest resolutions. Do you have a 4K HDMI cable from your TV into the Direct TV Box ?

To get the 4k signal from Directv, you have to get their 4k box and sign up for 4k

C61K is the 4K Mini Genie Client (not receiver). As long as the main box is the 3rd generation Genie HR54 (or revised HR54R1), or the Genie-2 (HS17), than that should be a 4K setup.
TV needs to support HDMI 2.0, HDCP 2.2, and 60 FPS for DirecTV's 4K programming. As tech installed it should be compatible. As it is intermittent, I would verify the cable between box and TV is staying secure. Also with any new TV (these days), check to see if any firmware/software updates came out.
My old TV was from AAFES as well. Little treat to myself coming back from supporting my unit at the mob station. Not HD, has both built-in DVD and VCR. My sick or leave me alone TV. Maybe I'll replace it one of these days.
