I’ve never had any program recorded over the satellite feed blocked from FF, only on demand programs. Most on demand programs are blocked. Regardless, there is no way to tell beforehand what programs will have FF blocked.
What program is it specifically? As sandblaster stated, I’ve never come across a satellite-delivered show/movie/program that was unable to be FF’d via the DVR afterwards.
If a program is from On Demand (the internet, channel number in the 1000s), expect that FF and REW are blocked. This is something implemented by many networks.
If the program is from satellite, then FF and REW are never blocked unless there is an error.
So just make sure you recording is on a channel number that is 3 digits or less. That is the only way to tell.
