Caller ID is dead as far as DTV is concerned, they have removed the phone jack on the HR54 Genie and HS17 Genie2 and the software is no longer supporting it. If you have the older HR24 or lower models that still support caller id you can try a red button reset to see if it comes back.
If you have the 2nd generation Genie (HR44) then Caller ID on TV is gone. For any other box, go into menu and Extras and the setting should be there.
Caller ID on TV is a very outdated feature that support was dropped for. It was simply left to run on the old software. The new GUI software removes options for the outdated features. The HR44 is the last box to have a phone jack, but the 1st to get the new GUI. So once disabled, there is no getting it back.
