Can I receive KTLA outside of California?
I used to receive KTLA on Dish through a "superstation." I cancelled Dish because they took the station away from me when I moved. I don't live in California. Can I receive KTLA outside of California?

Per Federal regulations, DirecTV and Dish may only provide you the locals that are in your Designated Market Area (DMA). This is the locals for the market you live within. So if you don't live in California, then you cannot get California locals. This all comes down to where you actually live as locals received, what professional sport teams are in-market, and the taxes you are required to pay are based on your physical service address.
A "superstation", otherwise known as a DNS channel, is only available with a waiver, usually because of no equivalent local where you live. If a local affiliate station for that network becomes available, you may be grandfathered in keeping it temporarily. Once you move, local qualification is rechecked and DNS falls off if you no longer qualify. This is not the choice of Dish, DirecTV, or any other TV provider as they must follow the rules set by the local stations and Federal regulations.
To see what locals you get, including what specific CW is available (as KTLA is a CW affiliate owned by Nexstar Media group): www.directv.com/locals
Sorry but to get California locals you must live there.
