Casting Recordings
Does DirectTV permit recordings to be casted ? Whenever I try a message appears stating that casting recordings is either not supported or coming soon. Well several years have passed and soon has come and gone.

Originally, DirecTV (the satellite service) did not allow casting/airplay to the TV. This was because it avoided paying for that TV on the service. Also they wanted to verify full TV service was in the residence itself (since you are paying for a single home on the account).
Now with the streaming providers (DIRECTV STREAM and DirecTV via Internet), and the app combined between all 3 services, some of those restrictions seem to be changing.
If it changes it still may be "soon". In the last several years has been the pandemic which has slowed many things down and then AT&T split all the TV services into their own entity with the new co-owner. That being said updates to features and improvements of the app were expected in the coming months, so something to keep an eye on for the near future.
