Changing physical locations after 6-1 with an RV Account

DNS service for RV's is a great option as we move from place to place. I have known RV'ers through the years that didn't have DNS and just tried to get DirecTV to change their location as they moved leaving their billing/home base the same. This was an exercise in futility since 99% of the DirecTV people that answered the phone had no idea what the question was or how to make the change. DNS solved that lack of support by DirecTV.

Now that DNS is going away what will DirecTV do to make changing physical location changes easier or maybe the better question is with DNS gone why do I need to stay with DirecTV when their competitor has a phone app offering location changes at will as you move. I have zero interest in an hour phone call each time I move to try to get someone with DirecTV to even understand my question, let alone making the change for me.

I have been with DirecTV continuous for 25 years, but this may be the straw that broke the camel's back.

Since direcTV no longer allows address changes without setting up a mover's order which may or may not be free (depending on your account) the only option would be an antenna or to go with that other provider (dish) in my personal opinion you're better off with the other provider they're more RV friendly than direcTV.

AFAIK the only reason there is an RV account was to get the DNS channels so one would assume RVers with an RV account will still get them, we will find out in June. One would also assume dish will lose them also if they even have them.

Dish has an app that allows rv'ers to change their address thereby allowing the lil to wherever the rv'er is. I'm pretty sure (not 100 %) that the stelar act expiring also affects dns for rvs

The letter or card actually that I received from AT&T specifically said I would lose DNS on my RV account. This is the only account I have with AT&T. They blamed the FCC which may or may not be the reason.

Dish is looking better all the time and I can also use a portable dish and get HD which you can not do with DirecTV. I really hate to change from DirecTV after 25 years, but AT&T is making it very difficult to stay with them.

If anyone hears of a fast way to change location (not home base address) with DirecTV starting June 1, I would like to hear it. Personally I think they are completely deaf to RV'ers and just don't care what their actions do to us "their customers". If DNS going away is the fault of the FCC or other government action so be it, but at least create a method for us to change locations easy and quick as we travel.

The FCC didn't renew the rule AKA the Stellar Act that allowed DTV and all other providers to provide the DNS channels. DTV is mainly for residential stationary use it was the RV makers and mobile dish makers that got DTV to allow the use of their service so since AT&T will not allow changing the service address without a move order that may or may not be free and starts a new 1 year contract DTV RV use is not going to last much longer.

Starting a new contract for any change is a decision by AT&T and not required by the government. It is further proof that AT&t does not want to be bothered by customers and certainly explains the company's complete lack of understanding of "customer service". June 1 is looking more and more like the end of my DirecTV account unless AT&T wakes up and I'm not holding my breath for that.

So how is wanting to recoup their cost of sending a tech to install receivers and maybe a dish lack of customer service? 90+% of DTV customers are residential, apt or condos and they never service RV unless the are permanently parked.
