chat button

Why is the Chat Now button still on the web page if it can NEVER be used?

Yes, I use it all the time. It worked today when I logged in and tried to chat.

If you mean on the DirecTV website then you've misunderstood how it works. It is only usable when there is an agent available. It doesn't have a hold queue like you would get if you called. So it only works if there is someone not already helping someone else.

That being said the website is going through a migration with the new co-owner. So there are technical issues along the way while they take over operations.

In either case, I doubt knowing the answer realy helps you. Perhaps instead share the issue you are having to begin with that you want to chat with them and perhaps we can offer some guidance.

When was the last time an agent was available?

We are customers like you, we have no clue. Check the chat hours and ensure that cookies/VPN/ad-blockers are not enabled on the site as that can affect the chat feature. Additionally, you should be logged into your account to use the chat feature.

When was the last time an agent was available?

Those who have chatted with an agent recently could answer that. But how would knowing that help you in any way?

Now because of lackluster info given in the last year, I prefer not to use chat. I would suggest either calling or actually posting in the forum your situation to get actual help.

There are NO hours of operation given for chat.  I would like to know if ANYONE has been able to use chat in the last 6 months.  It is relevant in that it would let me know when I may be able to contact someone using this.  If they no longer support it, fine,  then they should just lose the chat now button.  That's all.

Thank you very much.  I'll have to keep trying.

Chat is still supported, but again only useable when a chat agent is available. Be very cautious as a lot of misinformation has come from that option or invalid 'promises' in the last year. When chat is closed it is deleted, not saved to your account. That is why I prefer to call so that account access and at least system generated notes are saved.

Was thinking you wanted to know when used in the last few days, not 6 months. That it absolutely has been used. If you don't want to talk with someone and risk chat, then all you can do is keep trying. Sorry there isn't a better answer.
