Most likely because the DTV Covid-19 free preview ended on July 31.

Thanks for the feedback. However, we had been watching DIYHD programs years before COVID arrived. Did Direct decide to change the channels that had been part of Choice programming Jon July 31?

Hey @dcmil,
We are here to help with your inquiry about DIY HD. @shannon02 and @nabukl are correct. There was a free preview that ended on July 31, 2020. Check out the DirecTV channel lineup list. DIY channel is part of the XTRA, Ultimate, and Premier packages.

Verify DIY is part of your package: https://www.att.com/channels/directv/
If it is, then the freeview ending may have caused a hiccup with the authorizations. Try both a red button reset of your receivers and a refresh of the service authorizations: www.directv.com/refresh
However, if DIY doesn't show in your package, then it wasn't supposed to be there other than the freeview. In that case it would have been a authorization error that let it through for so long. Rare situation, but not unheard of.

Hey @dcmil,
There have been past promotions on packages in which additional channels like DIY has been offered free as a trial period. The promotion may have expired and was not reflected on your account till the update on July 31st 2020 DIY promotion synchronized your account to the correct package services.
If you believe this is in error. @Juniper's suggestion on refreshing your DirecTV services will update your channels and package to the correct listing.
