Because direct doesn't carry nbc, is there a soap channel where we can record??
There is not one NBC channel. Local affiliate stations carry NBC. To check who provides NBC in your area: www.directv.com/locals (assuming your local affiliate hasn't pulled their feed from DirecTV to try and raise costs).
Sorry but there is no longer a channel dedicated to just soaps. The old SOAPnet was shutdown by their parent company (Disney-ABC Television Group) at the end of 2013.
Your option is to use the search feature to see where any particular soap is being shown and hopefully you have the channel.
