delete from this room only
I set up the whole home with yes share playlist. Delete from this room only, but I can still delete from the other rooms. What else can I try?

What are all of the receiver models? This could be the case because you are using a Genie HD DVR and Genie clients. Because Genie Mini Clients get all their info from the Genie, they will always be able to erase recordings.
This setting would work with a traditional HD or HDDVR receiver being that those are standalone and don’t require the Genie HD DVR to work. Examples of these receivers are the HR24 and H25.

Do you only have a Genie and Mini Genie Clients? If so, Clients are extensions of the main box so always have access to it. Think of it as all TVs connected to one box. That is why full receivers are suggested instead of Clients to get more flexibility and capability. Unless you have the Genie-2 (HS17), in which case you are restricted to Clients only.
However if the other rooms are full receivers, what are the models of each box? And do you have the problem on all?

Terrific. I just got all of them upgraded. My shows keep getting deleted by children and I wanted to lock it. Any other options?

@DIRECTVhelp parental control and passwords will do nothing to solve the problem, @Pbelo if you only have a genie and minis there's no solution unless you replace the minis with hddvrs or hd receivers which will cost $199.00 for hddvr or $99.00 for an hd receiver if you have an Hs17 genie then there's NO solution at all unless you replace the Hs17 with a different genie which is $299.00
