Did DirecTV make a deal to continue NFL Sunday Ticket after Youtube got it?
I've had DirecTV (DTV) since 2003. Over twenty years.
I've only stuck with DTV because of NFL Sunday Ticket (NFLST).
Next season, Youtube will offer it via streaming, which I don't like because I can only watch 1 out of town game at a time. With DTV's DVRs, I could watch/record 2 games per receiver.
I heard that DTV was negotiating with Youtube for a subcontract where DTV could still broadcast NFLST using satellite technology. This was to accommodate the businesses like sports bars which still wanted to televise NFL games on their TVs using the feed from the satellite.
Did DTV ever get a deal with Youtube about subcontracting the broadcasting so some people could still get the NFLST feed via satellite for a paid package? Is it still in the works? Or has the door closed on DTV being able to provide NFLST via satellite feed?

To my knowledge, DirecTV only succeeded in keeping NFL Sunday Ticket on the business side (i.e. sports bars). Nothing further has been heard about them regaining anything on the residential side. Not impossible something could happen, but I wouldn't expect anything unless some big annoucements are made.
Nevermind the single streaming feed vs DVRs, but this hurts rural customers hard. Not everyone has good enough internet (if at all) to rely on streaming.

It is up to the NFL if DTV gets anything more then the sports bars feed, Youtube has no say in what the NFL does with their games.

Sandra, the OP was mainly asking about NFL Sunday Ticket via satellite, not the obvious. And, the only way you can do this while still using the DIRECTV system is with the new Gemini receiver.

shannon02,
What I read on the Internet (and I admit it could be wrong) is that the NFL sold the rights to NFL Sunday Ticket to Youtube and it was up to Youtube, not the NFL, to determine if the NFL game broadcasts could be distributed via satellite feed.
So DirecTV had to negotiate with Youtube, not the NFL directly, to see if they could still broadcast NFL Sunday Ticket via satellite feed for residential customers.

@DIRECTVhelp You said "NFL Sunday Ticket will still be available to DIRECTV customers through YouTube Primetime next fall, no YouTube TV required! "
So what are you telling us? Satellite Customers will still be able to purchase Sunday Ticket through Direct TV and watch on Direct TV Satellite Feed?

No. You would still need to subscribe through YouTube. It is just that YouTube TV is not required to subscribe to NFL Sunday Ticket. (In other words, NFLST is a subscription service that can be purchased without subscribing to any of YouTube’s subscriptions.)
In order to view it, you would need a streaming device or otherwise the DIRECTV Gemini receiver.

Simply means you can get a standalone subscription to NFL Sunday Ticket via YouTube without having the YouTube TV service itself. So Sunday Ticket by itself, not bundled with anything.
It is still gone from DirecTV (satellite) for residential customers.

Highly doubt that the NFL would allow youtube to sell their games to anyone.
