Direct TV Skill will not link to Alexa app
Alexa use to work throughout the house. Then it quit all of the sudden without cause. Now it says I have to enable the skill again. When I try to enable the skill in the Alexa app it either says there’s an error connecting to Direct TV account. I’m all on the same network, have restarted everything, done everything suggested. It’s all right and connected on my end. It’s the skill failing to connect with my account. NOT MY NETWORK!! NOT MY EQUIPMENT!!!! EVERYTHING WORKS EXCEPT THIS PIECE OF (Edited per community guidelines)ING (Edited per community guidelines) DIRECT TV AND THIS (Edited per community guidelines) (Edited per community guidelines)ING SKILL. HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS FOR ALEXA EQUIPMENT THAT’S WORTHLESS BECAUSE DIRECT TV CAN’T GET THEIR (Edited per community guidelines)ING (Edited per community guidelines) TOGETHER. Half the time we can’t even access our Direct TV APP period. Y’all dropped Fox that we watch regularly without any notification. And because Direct TV is or piece of (Edited per community guidelines) provider we can’t even access other streaming apps because they all lead us back to m wanting to access our piece of (Edited per community guidelines) provider. If our provider worked we wouldn’t be going to other streaming apps period. AT&T and DIRECT TV ARE THE BIGGEST RIP OFF THERE IS NEXT TO DEFECTIVE APPLE PHONES!!!! WILL BE FINDING ANOTHER PROVIDER THAT WORKS AND APPRECIATES IT’S CUSTOMERS! THROUGH PAYING INFLATED PRICES FOR SERVICES THAT WORK!!!! (Edited per community guidelines) DIRECT TV, AT&T, and APPLE!!!!!!! NONE IF THEM WILL EVER GET ANOTHER DIME!!!!! ILL SMASH EM ON SOCIAL MEDIA AND EVERY PLATFORM I CAN FIND!!!!!!!!!!

The new link y’all keep sending everyone gets an error code too. Unavailable page. MORE DIRECT TV (Edited per community guidelines) GOING CIRCLES BUT NEVER FIXING THE PROBLEM!!!!! Now what lies do y’all have for us?

Suddenly, Alexa stopped responding to "Turn off the TV" which was supposedly linked to DirecTV. But if I said "turn off DirecTV" is worked, until today. Alexa keeps saying there is no device connected to that skill. I looked for the DirecTV skill and it's gone. I guess it's true that they dropped it. However, mine worked until November 17th.

As I recall, the date for Alexa support being dropped was pushed back. Makes sense as the original announcement seemed a bit short notice.
Not impossible some features may have continued to work past the official date. But once all the updates are through and correct on each device, that's the breaks. Then everyone, including those that went off their rocker like the OP, will have to accept reality.

DTV sent all DTV receivers a message saying that ALEXA will be dropped first on Oct 27 that was then changed to Nov.8.

We never check those. Lol. Maybe an email or text message should have been sent. I did look tonight. There were 4 messages there but none about Alexa.

Notification on screen. Unlike email or phone, that they know for certain you have. And it cannot be considered junk as only your provider can send those messages.
All a moot point know. Alexa support is gone, no turning back time.

I paid thousands of dollars for this equipment that was supposed to work flawlessly, and it does not, for example, if I'm watching directv and I ask Alexa to change the channel, it actually changes the INPUT to my Firestick and starts trying to find some app to use there, even though I erased the directv app from my firestick months ago. So I can't even change channels with Alexa on my stinkin TV. Nor can I open my favorites list. About the only thing I can do is increase volume.
Can ANYONE help?? Would be happy to record and send video!
