DirectTV Satellite at home / streaming at my cabin

I have DirectTV at home via the dish and 5 tv boxes.  I have 2 smart tvs at my cabin 60 miles away.  Can I access my DirectTV at the cabin via my smart tvs?

AFAIK not at this time DTVhelp says they are adding access to the Genie DVR to the new DTV app that is combining DTV sat service with the streaming service.

Sorry, no. You can't access your satellite DVR remotely. But you should be able to live stream some channels using their Apps and your DirecTV account login credentials.

Also download the Directv app to your smart tv’s, it should also give you access to most channels in your package.

Sandblaster- are you sure?  This is why I am asking the question, as that doesn’t work for me.  Are you a DirectTV dish subscriber?  If so, have you tried your recommendation on a smart tv at a location that doesn't have a box?  If it worked, could you exactly define which app?  Thanks!

If you have internet, you can use a streaming device ('smart' TV or an external box like a Roku) to access individual channel apps. This will not be the entire service as is not your residence.

If you are going to be at the cabin long term, than you can setup a separate account. You can suspend each account up to 6 months in a 12 month period to only pay for the one in use. For receiving by satellite, DirecTV requires each place to have its own account because locals , Regional Sports, and taxes are based on the physical service address. This also prevents account sharing which is not permitted.

Thanks Juniper - I am specifically looking for the Tennis Channel, which is over $100 separately.  I will call Directv and ask about this.

When you call, ask about a 2nd home order. That should direct you to the correct department and info.

Unless they have removed the functionality from the Directv app, yes I’m sure. I have the Directv app on an Apple TV, not a smart tv and admittedly not used on on a streaming device away from home but it’s supposed to work.
