Directv and a RV

I have an rv and would love to take Directv on the road with me. I do have a portable Tripod dish. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Is that a SWM Slimline dish on the tripod? If so then you are good to go after you aim it but you will lose all local channels once you get outside of your locals spot beam and will need an OTA antenna connected to the TV to get them.

Must be a SWM slimline dish on a Tripod/Sled mount. If it is any other dish/dome, then it only services DirecTV MPEG-2 and cannot be used going forward since they are shutting down those outdated feeds.

The other option is the Winegard Trav'ler that installs on the RV/Camper itself.

Yes it is a SWM Slimline dish on a tripod mount. Do you all use the genie to find the satellites or do you use a locator? Thanks!

The built in meters are good enough just hard to see the TV.  So long as you get them into the 80's you are good.

I have the correct satellite and tripod, but I went to the wireless genie. Are there any options to continue doing this? Would Directv rent me a different receiver ? Or out of luck?

Minis are bricks without the Genie to provide the tuner and hard drive so you have to take it and the WVB.
