Directv cast and crew info is incorrect

Recently I have found cast and crew errors while watching channel 256 TCM (Turner Classic Movies).  Who do I contact to report the errors?  Tonight I was watching My Sister Eileen.  In Cast and crew Janet Blair was incorrectly listed as playing Eileen.  The part of Eileen was played by Janet Leigh.  This is only one of many errors I have found over time.  TCM tells me they do not provide that info and that it probably is supplied  to Directv by a third party.

Please help

The owners of the program supplies that info to the third party guide maker that DTV and other TV providers use.

You would need to report it to TCM.

Please read my original post carefully.  TCM says they are not the provider of the guide information.  It seems I may be the victim of finger-pointing.  TCM says it's not them. Directv says it's not them.  Two different Directv agents have elevated this: one to Engineering, one to Network.  Maybe something useful will come out of this.  It's interesting that everybody I've spoken to at Directv claims they have never heard of this problem before.  Really........  So I'm the only person that notices this issue?  I doubt it.....  Cheers

Of course TCM provides the Guide Data. It's provided by each network to a third-party company (not DirecTV). It's up to TCM to ensure their data is accurate. TV providers like DirecTV cannot police every network's data for accuracy.

They haven't corrected the Science Channel and others either where Erik Dellums is given credit for Mike Rowe's narration.

This is from TCM:

The movie descriptions/details that you see on your TV’s on-screen guide are not actually provided by TCM; they're provided by a third-party vendor used by your TV provider. Some TV providers use one service, some another. So, the same film might have different descriptions/details on Optimum than on Comcast or Spectrum. We track and report these inaccuracies, so thanks for taking the time to let us know. You may wish to report this issue to your TV provider.

It's true that DirecTV and other TV providers get their information from third parties. But where do you think that the "third-party vendor" gets their information? They can only get that information from the various network/stations. They don't make it up themselves. So, ultimately, it falls to the TCM to ensure that those third parties have accurate information.

Based on the replies to my post and having contacted Directv and TCM, it is apparent that nobody I have contacted knows the answer/solution to my issue.  Oh well.  I'll keep trying.

Seems sad that TCM doesn't want to take responsibility for their own Guide Data information.

I understamd that but it is also posssible that TCM provides good data, but it is applied incorrectly.  As you know, databases can be mishandled and the more times it is passed along the way the more likely errors can ocurr.  I will continue to contact all the players to find out where the errors need to be reported to get them fixed,  Thanks

I see Starz has Michelle williams listed in cast with correct bday, birth place, but pic of Destiny Child's singer Michelle williams who happens to be black, and not the Oscar award winner who was in the movie Venom. So correct name, bday, birthplace, given but someone mismatched pic with same name. Would be nice to know who to contact when all on Directv. It is up to Directv to make sure info correct or point us to links within forums to help correct issues in guides. Pretty easy to let customers help! Just give us links to report inconsistencies and we will make your job a breeze!
