The app no longer supports Amazon Fire HD unless it is running Android.

I did use to work "Amazon Fire is an Android-based OS, and most of the Android Apps from the Google Play Store will work on your Amazon Fire Tablet. Now let’s go through the process step by step to install Android apps and Google Play on Amazon Kindle Fire HD."
So I think Directv should go back and Support this Device . I what is the deal with PC users It does on work there either.

DTV dropped support for streaming from the DTV receivers to PC/laptops years ago. You can still stream the available channels by logging into your account.

You may think DirecTV should go back and support the device, but there is no requirement they do so. First and foremost they are a satellite TV service. Any streaming options are limited secondary perks.
The main question, is your Kindle on the supported list?

I used to be able to watch on my Fire tablet until last week. It now tells me to update to new version (effective 8-26-21) but when I click on the link there is no "install" button, just "open" and when you click on that it takes you back to original message to update and that is endless/useless loop. I also used to be able to watch on my Windows 10 PC but cannot get that to work any longer either.
And what is the deal with getting switched back and forth between AT&T websites and DTV websites. Yes, I know that they merged or one bought the other but seems like a lot of problems started when they hooked up. I will be on the DTV site and click on My Account and then I am on an AT&T site where they are trying to sell me a phone.
