No. Only the AT&T Now (Formerly DirecTV Now) streaming service. No satellite app. You'll need a DirecTV box for that TV.

There is no DirecTV app for TVs. You pay for each authorized TV on the service.

Some individual channels have their own apps that is allowed on TVs.

Some TVs have a RVU Client, also known as DirecTV Ready. This is like having a Mini Genie Client built-in. Some people call it a app, but it works differently. Since no difference in monthly cost, and some downsides to relying on the TV set and TV maker, it is not recommended.

Directv Now is another TV provider that is streaming only that is completely separate from DirecTV, though both owned by AT&T. It does have an app as that is how the service is delivered. The name caused a lot of confusion as people would mix up the streaming provider with the traditional satellite one. Thankfully it is going through rebranding to AT&T Now which should eliminate that issue.

we have DirectTv. A Samsung tv. We use to switch over to stream then to get back to satellite click on the directv app. Now it’s gone we can’t without turning everything off then back on. What’s a better way?

There is no app for DTV on a TV only for streaming services like AT&T TV Now you may have to go to your TVs app store to download it again.
