Directv on Samsung TV
After 3 days and many hours with tech support I have been told that you just can't get Directv on a new Saqmsung smart tv. There is no directv app available on Samsung (or firestick either). so I can watch Directv on my phone or computer but not my big screen tv. Really? Anyone have a way to do this?

DTV is a sat service not a streaming service.
DTV charges for additional TVs so to add your new TV you have to have a DTV receiver connected to it.

But I stream on my computer and phone with Directv all the time...
so it does stream. And they advertise that you can stream

It is no longer called DTV Now it was rebranded as AT&T TV a while back.
There is no app to stream to anything but mobile devices.

Sorry there is no option to do what you as it is against their service.
DirecTV is service by satellite, so is designed around that. You pay for each authorized TV on the service. As such, the DirecTV app is not available on any TV streaming device and casting/airplay from phone to TV is blocked.
You want another TV on the service, then you get a receiver or client for it so it is authorized by your paying for that TV. You are not getting another TV free on the service.
DirecTV is not a streaming provider.

Good info. But remember the streaming-only service DIRECTV NOW was rebranded back in 2019 to AT&T TV NOW. The original branding caused too much confusion where people thought it was an extension of DirecTV when in fact they are separate services entirely.
