Directv Stream Keeps Asking for Subscription

I try to watch my directv satellite on desktop and cannot get through because Directv Stream says I can't because I don't have a subscription with them?? I don't need a subscription with Directv Stream because I have a satellite account that USED TO allow me to watch on laptop/desktop. I'm stuck and have been back and forth with Stream and Satellite and haven't gotten this problem resolved and am feeling like cutting my losses.

Not saying your issue is completely unheard of, but it seems to be rare enough that many (especially new and outsourced) agents are not familiar with it. If the web unlock team (or equivalent department) cannot fix, perhaps a BBB complaint to the corporate level would track down someone who can resolve this unique problem.

I actually like my satellite cable.

Just my brain nitpicking here (just like when people try to call internet Wi-Fi), but that would be satellite TV as different from cable TV.

I have tried reseting my ID and password only for this unidentifiable thing from latching on again and the new password and ID being compromised again. So no this didn't work. I'm very surprised about the problem I'm having and nobody in either department knowing exactly how to resolve it?? I've been a customer for years and have multiple accounts to just be passed along from department to department I think is a shame. I've talked with the digital department nothing, the satellite and stream and nothing? I'm thinking this might be it for directv...

DirecTV and DIRECTV STREAM are two separate providers. Naturally, you cannot log into DIRECTV STREAM because you have satellite.

DirecTV is the satellite service. It does have 'some' streaming perks.

DIRECTV STREAM is the new streaming-only provider. It used to be called AT&T TV and before that DIRECTV NOW (I know, their naming has been confusing).

So on your laptop/desktop, make sure you are going to DirecTV and not DIRECTV STREAM.

Like I said directv is rerouting me to stream. I know how to log in or where to go I've been going to directv satellite without problem for years. Some context for you, in 2018 directv stream was given for free to satellite customers for a time before directv pulled it. So this "shell" account which is what a directv stream account specialist called it since its been inactive for years but still seen in my account when I'm looking at my account at att.com is doing something that apparently unexplainable?? One directv satellite specialist said she had never heard of this while I shared my screen with them?!

Sorry, I didn't see earlier where you were being rerouted from one to the other. It sounded like you were trying to log into DIRECTV STREAM expecting it to manage the streaming perks of DirecTV.

Being this appears to be a unique issue, plus any background updates with the new co-owner, I would expect most agents legitimately are in the dark on this issue. You could call and request a supervisor or their web unlock team (or whatever it is called now) to fully reset the login (not simply a password reset but resetting up the online access).

Hope you get this fixed. Though if you think this is it for DirecTV because you cannot stream, well it sounds like streaming is your priority and not satellite.

I actually like my satellite cable. I'm comfortable enough to keep it up until its been unusable. I spend 12hr days away from home with some down time at work so this for about 9 months now has been a deal breaker. I actually asked the directv satellite specialist if they did in fact have somebody in management who could assist but they didn't initiate anything so looks like I'm stuck. How strange that I have an issue never heard of? I asked the account specialist if they could just scrub this shell stream account from my account and they said they couldn't. I also asked if I could just set up a whole new account because now I have like 3 different IDs and multiple passwords all from my original 1 password and 1 old ID. Total mess...
