DirecTV website player upgrade from FLASH to HTML5

This is a very good question. Unfortunately there has been no info announced and this is just a public forum of other customers. Even any employees who post here off-the-clock who might be in the know are probably prohibited from telling us until there is a public notice.

Don't know if they will update by the end of support, discontinue completely, or continue running on the legacy software for the time being (but without further updates of course). Would definitely like to get an update on this sooner rather than later on what the intention is.

And the day has arrived. Apple just updated Safari — version 14.0 — and it no longer supports Flash. If you use Safari to run the Directv player, you are shit outta luck at getting anything to stream. I've also been having more problems with Chrome lately. Many channels in my package are now grayed out. I should be able to stream them on my MacBook Air using Chrome but they no longer work. Nobody in tech support knows what to do. They say they'll enter a ticket for a fix  — but this issue has been coming for several months with ample warnings from Apple, Google and Adobe!! It's crazy that AT&T/Directv has been caught off guard. How could they not have an HTML 5 player working by now? It's like they want to make their product unusable to encourage customers to go elsewhere.
