DirecTV Z9D Android DirecTV Ready RVU App
I have a 75” Sony Z9D. TV firmware says current @ 6.7165. DirecTV Ready says current @ 1.0-229423.
App opens and searches for Genies. I selected the correct HR54 Genie and contacted DirecTV for provision on account. Worked last night but today when trying to open app, it says searching for genie for about 10 seconds then crashes and goes to Home Screen. Did a TV system factory restore and DirecTV confirmed setting on their end but app still won’t open. I am trying to use RVU for DirecTV satellite and NOT the DirectTV Stream. Need RVU without a physical DirecTV client via HDMI.
Is my app the correct version? Please advise on resolution as reset and the technician cannot fix. Spent 3 hours on phone with DirecTV tech support and a technician from DirecTV spent 4 hours trying to resolve. Zero functionality.

Also, please advise on the most recent Sony TV models compatible with DirecTV RVU services without a genie mini HDMI client. I can only find an outdated list.
Specifically, is the 2022 8K Google TV Z9K and / 2021 A09J DirecTV RVU capable? No local stock to look myself and nobody knows.

Wow. Sony still makes RVU-compatible TVs? I thought those died out a few years back, along with DirecTV's support for RVU. It's a technology that never worked very well, even its heyday. You're much better off with a DirecTV Mini Client.

RVU was essentially short lived for DirecTV. Has additional issues and you still pay for the authorized TV just like having a box.
A Mini Genie Client, or preferably a regular HDDVR (i.e. HR24) would be the better option than RVU. With HDDVR you get the additional tuners, recording space, and dedciated processing as opposed to a Client (Mini Genie or RVU) that steals capability from the Genie.
