Directv2PC wont install

I had issues with DirecTV2PC so I uninstalled it, and then installed and older version. It didnt fix the issues so I uninstalled it again and tried to reinstall the newest version and I keep getting an error message - 'The directv2pc activation pack cannot be installed this way, Please launch DirecTV2PC and activate when prompted." I cannot launch it because its not installed. I cannot uninstall it because its not installed. How do I get past this error?
