Disappointed with package

I would like to know why I am paying to have more garbage like too many channels that sell products.  What a disappointment. I am looking into canceling with direct tv.  My family enjoys watching tv during the fall and winter, if I want to buy products I will go to the store.

all cable/sat companies are like this

just create a fav that does not show the stations you do not want

oh and those shopping channels pay to be carried, so they help lower your bill, just an fyi

If you're paying for channels you don't want, then lower your subscription package to fewer channels and save money.

You pay for a package of channels, just like with other TV providers.

Review the channels you and your family enjoys and verify you are on the lowest costing package that covers it. You can change your package at any time, so if you use it more often during the fall and winter, then come spring you can choose to reduce the package during the months you don't watch it as much.

Nobody watches every single channel they have access to with any TV provider. So setup a favorites list where you can hide any channel you aren't subscribed or ones you have but don't watch.

if you mean shopping channels you don't pay for these, in fact they pay Directv and help to keep your cost down.

Creating the fav, does not give me more programs to watch.

Of course not. But you were complaining about all of the "garbage" shopping channels. You can filter those out if they bother you. If you're not getting the channels you really want, then you'll need to change your subscription package.

I hope you didn't think we were telling you otherwise. Of course a favorites list doesn't give you more programming for free as that would be fantasy. I prefer to deal with reality.

Creating a favorites list hides the channels you do not watch. Makes it easier to browse the guide or even if you have that day of channel surfing.

If you want more to watch, then you raise your package or add a pack of channels (HBO, Movies Extra Pack, etc.).
