Don't like the digital sub-channels
Since I changed from Dish to Directv, my Vizio TV only shows the sub-channels for each station (25-2 for channel 12) How to get it back to regular channels?
thanks!

Sounds like the TV is on the ANT input. DTV only carries a sub channel when the channel uses it as their main channel with is why channels like H&I and MeTV are on DTV in some markets.

Your sub-channels come from the regular antenna, not DirecTV. So you are on the ANT input/source. You need to change your input/source back to the one DirecTV is plugged into.

Thanks for your prompt suggestions! I checked, and the Tuner Mode does show "Cable". If I change it to "Antenna" only one channel shows, (the in-house local informational channel) "3"

When you are on the "Cable" input, can you use the DirecTV remote to pull up the DirecTV guide or menu? If not, try your other inputs as some TVs allow you to rename the HDMI inputs so want to make sure it matches (HDMI-1, HDMI-2, etc.).
What is your zip code?
Model of boxes?
Do each have the issue?
Is the issue that for the locals it only shows their sub-channels but not the main local, or can you not access any of your other DirecTV satellite channels?

If you have regular directv (that is, you are not using a special hospital/nursing home service) then directv will probably be on the HDMI 1 connection

Thanks for your input.
Juniper: I do not have a DTV remote. just the Vizio TV remote. I tried the HDMI settings and nothing about DTV showed. Zip code is 92078. I have no boxes...TV comes through the cable. I can access all of the DTV channels, but I have to put in 4 characters on the remote to access them....that's the issue.
TexasBrit: I am living in a Independent retirement community, and we all have been switched to DTV.
Thanks so much for trying to help!

Then that is the problem as DTV doesn't install MDUs so you have to contact the company the services your building.

I had a feeling that was the case. You need to talk to whoever is responsible for your system. Your community has what is called a head-end system that takes channels and puts them on a cable so can tune to them without a separate box. It's a sort of internal cable system using channels from different sources.
