Due to content rights restrictions, this program is not available for streaming in this area. Sorry for the inconvenience.
I have the most expensive, all inclusive Directv package but still can't get most channels on my Windows 10 laptop. I get the following prompt on all local channels - "Due to content rights restrictions, this program is not available for streaming in this area. Sorry for the inconvenience." On my iPhone however, I never get that prompt- everything works just fine. I've cleared all cookies. Tried Chrome, Bing and Firefox - same problem on all browsers. Any suggestions. I've even turned Duck duck go off. Help!! Directv customer support hasn't helped.

DirecTV is built for service by satellite. As such, streaming perks have more restrictions and can be finicky. Depends on the content owner on what the rules are (which often are not shared), and can be influenced by location services on your device. In addition, from my perception I have seen more of these types of post since the new co-owner took over management of the service and started migrating the systems. So it may come down to back-end issues that all we can do is wait until it is fixed. And customer support agents are trained on the satellite service itself, not so much streaming perks as that is not the focus of the service.
Sorry I couldn't offer more than a perspective over the current status.

You could try getting an Android emulator on your computer (examples include BlueStacks, Nox Player, etc) and installing the DIRECTV app with that emulator through the Google Play Store. That should generate the same app experience you’d be getting through a respective Android device. It worked great for me when I did it last.
