Expensive and dissatisfied

Why am I paying over $250 a month for basic direct TV and my cell phone when all my friends and family have the same plan and pay $200. I’ve been with att for almost 20 years. You would think I would be paying less for such loyalty. I demand that my bill be $200 as it was before or I want to cancel my service. Also channel 5 and 15 are no longer working so I’m being overcharged and not even getting what I’m paying for.

I would like a loyalty representative contact me immediately. I refuse to wait an hour on hold

We're customers like you, so nobody will be calling you. 

When you connect with a support rep, ask them what they can do for you as a loyal customer. Usually that takes the form of equipment upgrades, not reduced subscription rates.

Basic DirecTV wouldn't be anywhere near $200. The lowest package (Family) is $29.99 so even with HD, DVR, Whole Home DVR it wouldn't even be at $100.

 

You cannot demand your existing services be a certain rate, not how it works. You choose the level of package that best meets your desires at the rates they are at. If discounts are available, then great, but never rely on them to afford the bill. Discounts are not permanent, only a temporary perk.

 

Local affiliate owner pulls channels to leverage customers in a attempt to raise rates. You are not being overcharged. Channels are subject to change at any time and is in the terms of all TV providers. If you live in an area with no locals provided (uncommon) then DirecTV has a slightly lower cost of the packages. But as long as even one local is provided, your package remains the same.

 

You want an agent to call you immediately ahead of everyone waiting on hold? Get over yourself, you don't get to jump the line. Call DirecTV 1-800-531-5000 if you want to discuss the account or even cancel it. Agents are too busy dealing with customers who have called in and been on hold to give you preferential treatment.
