Genie 4K issues

I have a genie that is now all of a sudden saying the  104/105 channels 4K is not compatible at this location. It has worked fine in the past. Any ideas? I have tried resetting the boxes too.

Are you having the problem? on a C61K location -or a Hr54 location?

If it's on a C61K location, I suggest you   call 1-800-531-5000 and have your account looked at

the box is a C61 and i did

I would double check the model number as that is not the 4K one.

C61 - regular Mini Genie Client

C61W - Wireless Mini Genie Client

C61K - 4K Mini Genie Client (the only 4K model so far)

it is a C61K, there are 2 boxes 1 bigger box and then the small one. I have an HR54[big and small too] that i bought sometime ago but thought i was told that box would not work for some reason

The HR54 --Has a 1.4 HDMI port (meaning) it can NOT display 4K content.  the c61k is the only D*tv receiver with a 2.0 HDMI port (meaning) it can display 4K content direct to a 4K TV.

The HR54 Can record 4k content -it can only send that content (over) Moco (rg6) to a mini c61k do it can be viewed.

I have a Hr54 and a c61K connected to the same 4k tv --i change the TV input to view 4k (recorded) or live.

SO, if you wish to view 4k in the same room as the HR54 --then you would need to add another c61K to that tv's location.

Ok you do have the C61K. The HR54 is required for a 4K setup but will not broadcast 4K itself to a TV. This is because the 4K requirements updated when it was too far into production. DirecTV's solution was to quickly come out with the C61K as was easier and cheaper to have an updated Mini Genie then to scrap the motherboards of all HR54s.

So, through the Client connection is the only way to get the few 4K channels at this time.

if you are seeing channel 104 --not authorized on your TV connected to c61K--that is a ISSUE -that you need to call 1-800-531-5000 and have it resolved

I suggest you call back --as you find out every time you call you will get a different answer.  you might try call solid signal as they may be able to help get you up and running.
