HBO On Demand Library Disappeared?
We subscribe to all of the premium channels and HBO has suddenly changed.
Channel 1501, On Demand HBO is now only showing 1 movie in the library to the right of the screen. It used to look like all the other OnDemand channels like Starz and Cinemax which are portraying All Movies in their library selection. I tried calling for help, but they don't seem to understand what I am saying. This has been like this for about a week now.

DTV has no control over the On Demand channels, all they do is send you to their On Demand server.

HBO may be having the problem, but I pay DirecTV for a service I am not getting so who do I go to get this resolved?

You pay nothing more for On Demand access. You are paying for satellite service not the free internet perks.

I am afraid you do not know what you are speaking of. I pay for a service that I am no longer getting. Something is missing all of a sudden. The on-demand service library is still intact for Showtime, Cinemax, etc. it is just lacking with HBO on demand. There is one movie showing in the library, last week there were many more. This is not free internet perks. Thanks for your opinion, If anyone else has any useful suggestions, I would love to hear them.

I don't have DirecTV, but do you have access to HBO Max?
It seems to me that you would.

Yes as a separate app. Just takes longer to sign into their. Both my husband and I are seniors and he is not good with apps that’s why we miss the on demand library.

W are having the same problems. Plus we can no longer get HBO Max. I spent 4 hours on the phone Friday night dining everything they told me to do only to have the customer service person tell me it was my tv. However my tv is daily new and is working fine for all the other channels. They just don't want to deal with it. I might be going to comcast if this is not resolved soon.

@Snilles He does know what he is speaking of. The on demand library is a free extra, you are not paying for it. Yes, there is obviously an issue but to say you are not getting a service you are paying for is not true. Streaming using the HBOMax app is not hard. If you have access to it, you should use it.

Snillies. I kept getting the ruin around too. Called At&t - use customer service for your phone( on the automated part of the system - only way to get to this special department.) When you gets human tell them you need the Loyalty Department. When you get transfered you will have to go through everything all over again and don't be afraid to tell them how many personnel did not care or told you wrong. Tell them that if you cannot get this resolved now you will cancel everything. These people are the best of the best. They will work to get you HBO back up on the on demand before they hang up with you. On mine she actually had to call the HBO people to help. Good luck. My husband and I are older too, and many times thought the ordeal I would have to tell them I have no ideal what they Are talking about. Not everyone is into the tech stuff.

AT&T sold off 30% of DTV and the new partner is doing the day to day operations so calling AT&T will only result in transfers. DTV number is 1-800-531-5000 say cancel to the bot. As stated before it is an HBO problem which is why DTV called them.

@Snilles
You pay for satellite service, not internet streaming. Those secondary perks are not a guarantee of the serivce. They could discontinue all authorized streaming and you would still get what you pay for which is satellite.
Each network runs their own On Demand library. DirecTV's On Demand is only the bridge connecting you. They don't control the library itself. It is up to HBO on what is provided and in what quality. If HBO is having an issue, that is not something DirecTV can fix.

By the way, whatever was going on yesterday may have been fixed. I’m seeing quite a few movies available and all of their series. Perhaps you are just on the wrong menu. If I pick “All Movies” at the top of the menu, the resulting search only shows one movie. If I scroll down and select “HBO Movies”, the search returns many movies. Looks to me like all the on demand that has been available is there.
