Help In Airing A Pre-empted Pay-Per-View Event Before Month's End

Hello

I have been wanting to see a couple of events on pay-per-view (Channel 122) that have previously been made available during the month of July: CZW: Cage Of Death, and Exotic Glamour Models College Coed Bikini Bonanza.

Unfortunately, I've come to notice that another event, The 5 Tournament Pro Basketball Invitational, has taken over much of the program listings for the remainder of the rest of the month. So far, the playlist on Channel 122 has yet to show the upcoming events for July 30th and 31st, and I'm concerned that the particular events I'd like to order may not appear again within the final days of July, wholly costing me the opportunity to see them before the slate of August PPV events come out.

While this may be a long shot to ask here on the forum in the hopes that it will reach those at DIRECTV responsible for pay-per-view programming before the month of July ends in a matter of days, I wanted to request if at least one of the two "To Be Announced" days of programming for Channel 122 be made available for these events, or perhaps one of the "all-day ticket" replay events in the week ahead could be changed back to the month's earlier format to allow for these events to play in their place? I've seen that for much of the days ahead, all-day-ticket replays of the Impact Wrestling: Slammiversary XVIII or the aforementioned basketball events are scheduled for broadcast, and wanted to ask if a window of time could be made available for the events I've mentioned to air instead?

Had I known that the basketball event was likely to preempt the events I wanted to see, I likely would have acted much sooner in ordering the previously aired events, despite knowing that more than two weeks of time was still open for the events to be purchased, even with the Impact Wrestling: Slammiversary XVIII and WWE Extreme Rules events slated to appear within this same period; simply put, I believed that there was still plenty of time to order and see the shows I wanted, were it not for the special events currently airing. I understand the odds don't likely favor clemency for the events I want to see before the month ends, but if I may make some suggestions for future use by DIRECTV to minimize future disappointments, I would hope they could be applied moving forward.

In lieu of any rescheduling that I am requesting, here's what I would like to ask be done to make things easier later:

  • Since July effectively got "cut short" for the events I wanted, perhaps there could be a grace period for the first week of August to temporarily carry the July events alongside the new ones for August? Maybe until 5AM (CST) on August 10th, the July events could play alongside the forthcoming August events to make up for the days lost to the Pro Basketball Invitational tournament. Maybe that "grace period" could be applied as a backup plan whenever extended live PPV events threaten to disrupt the normal monthly scheduled pay-per-view programming to make things a bit more fair for everyone.
  • In order to preserve the "normal" slate of programs for Channels 121-124 in instances of live non-recurring pay-per-view sporting events and concerts becoming available for carriage on DIRECTV pay-per-view, maybe temporarily opening up new pay-per-view channels to exclusively host such events might be helpful to avoid such programming schedule conflicts in the future. I notice there's a gap between Channels 114 and 119, for instance; maybe dedicated "pop-up" pay-per-view channels could have been used to host this tournament instead. Recurring monthly pay-per-view events (such as wrestling, boxing, and MMA) could stay where they are between Channels 121 and 124.

I am eager to see what, if anything, could be done to work this out before it's too late.

Whether good or bad, please respond as soon as possible, as time is short.

Fingers crossed,

simple answer to this is"no". And no-one here has any control over the scheduling, we don't work for DirecTV.

If schedule of when programing is aired, or even if what is to be aired in the first place, is not in place then "To Be Announced" will show. That means they haven't got it hashed out for whatever internal reasons. There is nothing we as customers can do to force this to be updated quicker or to put in our own preferences.

However, in the chance the guide information is not updating correctly on the box then a couple steps to try. Verify coax finger tight to each box. Unplug power from all for 1 minute. Boot up one-at-a-time (don't boot the next until first complete) in a specific order (only boxes you have of course): Genie > Mini Genie Client > RVU TV Client (DirecTV Ready TV) > HDDVR > HD non-DVR. Refresh service authorizations to be on the safe side: www.directv.com/refresh

With that full power cycle that should clear residual memory and dump the guide data. Then the guide downloads fresh, usually completed within 24 hours (48hrs in rare cases). If this updates the info, then it was a guide error. If not, the listing will be updated when the source information is which we have no influence on.

Much appreciated to TexasBrit and Juniper for your responses, though I hoped for better news. I would communicate with DirecTV directly if such contact info were available, and the "DIRECTV Community Forum" redirects here (meaning there is no real DIRECTV Forum), so my options are very limited.

Perhaps I could engage a DirecTV agent via chat sometime tomorrow about possibly adjusting the schedule before July ends, or maybe I could ask about the situation with someone through DirecTV's official support number, but in the meantime, I welcome and encourage whomever has or may have some means of communicating with someone who actually is a DirecTV or AT&T employee to pass this forum link along to them, since an actual employee may have more influence over programming than anyone here. The month ends on Friday, so there is still some chance my preferred events can make it onto the guide before it's too late.

Again, if anyone knows someone within DirecTV that may be able to help, you have my permission to share this link with them:

Still hoping for the best,

The community Forum is just a public forum of other customers. Though there are a few official threads (and the rare response from their small help team), this is not a place of official support.

For official support you call. However, agents over the phone of course have no influence on the guide or airing of programming. That is on the backend between TV provider and networks/content owners. Not a thing we can do about it, just like any other provider.
