History Channel missing

Hello. my mother recently noticed that she no longer had access to the history channel. Is there a way that I can get this restored for her?

Thanks,

On Dec 8th of last year DTV moved some channels from the lower priced packages to different packages, at that time DTV offered to allow customers with those lower priced packages to get the moved channels back, unknown if DTV is still allowing this.  I believe that the History Channel was moved to Choice and above.  If she has that package then you can try logging into her account and refreshing the authorizations

A&E owned networks, including history, were removed from lower packages essentially a year ago. There was a limited time where one could "opt-in" to keep them which is has now passed.

If you mother is below Choice, did not opt-in, then the only way to get it back is to raise the package.

I too am missing our History Channel. I didn't know that they'd removed it or that we had a chance to keep it. The very least DirecTV could have done was to send an email regarding them removing channels from the Lower priced programming. We've been with DirecTV since its inception and this really stinks that we can't get the History Channel unless we up our Programming to at least Choice, which is about $50 more a month that some of us can't pay, but we would have paid $4-$5 more a month had we known at the time that they were going to do this.

Notice was given before the programming update happened. But to not know for over a year after it happened makes it sound it wasn't a watched channel for you.

So raising to at least Choice is your option to add it in. You can change your package at any time. So if you only want it for a few months you can then lower back down once you're done with it.

I would suggest always checking the current channel lineup before changing the package as it is subject to change at any time as you've learned.
