History channel
I just read that since we dont watch the history channel all the time and were gone for 30 days Direct TV took it off. But we can have it back for free. Well put it back DirectTV!!!! Dont take it off again

You have to call to opt back in. DTV moved it to other packages because total viewing didn't support it.

DirecTV sent notices in October and November 2021 that some channels would be removed from Select and Entertainment, still leaving them in the higher packages, per overall viewership. This would have nothing to do with you simply being gone for 30 days.
If you log into your account there is an opt-in you can use. This should restore the channels within 72hrs, provided it is still an option. There were some problems with it recently, so if the page doesn't confirm the request was submitted you may have to call normal support.
As for your request to "dont take it off again", unfortunately they can do so as they wish at any time. The Terms of Service (ToS) have a clause that programming (channels and their content) can change at any time. They negotiate carriage agreements with the networks and sometimes that changes what packages channels are in, the TV provider and channel parts ways, or the channel no longer exists as shutdown by their owner (Cloo and Chiller for example). Fortunately a change like this does not happen often.
